Basketball Champions

Trevor and Ethan finished basketball season with Trevor's team taking 2nd in their division and Ethan's team taking 1st in their division. VERY exciting games to watch when you have such good teams battling it out. All the games on February 28th were close ones adding to the suspense. Here is Ethan with the division champion trophy they got right after winning the championship!

 

Here is Trevor at his team party with his trophy. The top two teams in each conference (there are 3 conferences in the 1st/2nd competitive division) get to go to a tournament of champions on March 14th with several different cities competing! Exciting, but WOW I'm dying because baseball has already started so we are overlapping sports for a month! I will survive!

 

Crutches

Carson of course loves to imitate everyone else. He could not get enough of the crutches when Brent came home from surgery on February 25th.

 

Trevor was almost tall enough to use them the correct way. He was cracking us up trying to heave himself over.

 

Even Brent started getting in on trying to do different tricks. NOT what the doctor wanted I'm sure seeing as he was still totally drugged and wouldn't have felt it if he landed wrong. Doesn't he look a little too happy on these drugs?

 

Brent's cool shoe he gets to wear for a MONTH putting pressure ONLY on his heel if he has to put any pressure at all. Brent is more particular about his shoes than I am so he isn't too thrilled about this. For those of you that noticed it is his driving foot, no he isn't driving on it. He taught himself to drive with his left. Does being ambidextrous extend to your feet?

 

Cade had more fun than anyone else I think. He couldn't stop giggling.

 

 

The patient is doing better than expected and had very little pain. (Even though the doctor made us feel like it was going to be the worst recovery ever. I'd take this anyday over last years knee surgery) So, other than when some guy opened a door into him at the bank or when Ethan jumped onto our bed kneeing him in the foot he had a fairly good week. It was a week of having 5 kids to put it mildly, but I survived it somehow and I have my helpful husband back~almost.

Carson

Carson's favorite thing to do these days is push things. Laundry baskets, chairs, even paper towels.

 

These chairs are his favorite. He pushes them up and down our long hallway.

 

He stops pushing long enough to stand up and rock just enough to worry mom, but not enough to actually topple over.

 

He loves to climb up and down on the fireplace and bang on it.

 

 

We try to use these chairs to block him from the electronics, but he just climbs up and gets in the way of the kids cartoons.

 

You would think a kids with this much climbing and pushing ability would try to walk. NOPE. Just wants to torture his mother that is no longer strong enough to hold him being that he is so active and heavy and doesn't want to be held. He'll take steps here and there, but when he realizes he is walking he will drop to his bum. So...I wait for relief of having to hold this kid or listen to him scream in the stroller at basketball games or anywhere else I refuse to let him crawl.
