Goodbye Haircuts

Brent has been telling me for years he was going to do this. He said he would shave his head before going bald "naturally." Well. Now there is no question. The man has guts. I don't know if it is permanent, but it doesn't matter to me. Love the man bald or not. (The pictures don't do the new "do" justice. You have to see it in person.)

Scout

Trevor started scouts last week. He had a great time and even smiled for a picture in his new scout shirt. I realized between scouts and young mens programs this means a once a week commitment that we have to have a boy somewhere for the next 18 years. Ouch. At least when they play sports leagues we get breaks!

1st day of preschool.

Cade is 3 1/2 now. His first day of preschool was January 6th. He is growing up and changing so much right now! I had forgotten how mature they get around this age all of a sudden!

The first thing he chose to do was go for the play doh.

Utah SNOW!

When we arrived in Utah on December 29th, the boys couldn't wait to play in the snow. It was dark by the time we got unloaded and put all the snow clothes on to go outside so I snapped pictures really quick of them out playing in grandma Judy's yard and ran back inside!

Day two sledding in the yard.

Day 3 Brent had arrived the night before and was ready go with his boys snowboarding and skiing!

FUN Uncle Rick sledding with Ethan.

Cade sledding with dad.

Uncle Rick hurt his foot while helping our boyz get a good sledding run going and I just HAD to get a picture of him using grandma Smith's cane and stairway chair while trying to stay off it. He is such a good sport! (I am keeping this for blackmail later.)

Thanks for a great trip Grandma Judy and Grandpa Steve!

Baptism Day

Trevor was baptized on December 27th. It was so nice to have so much family in town for it being so close to Christmas! Our 8 year old is so grown up! It sure doesn't seen like 8 years ago to me that Trevor joined our family.

December Happenings

December 13th the family met up in Bakersfield for Grandma Harwell's 75th birthday.

Afterwards we took pictures with the parentals. Can you imagine having to be parents to all these crazy people?

In all seriousness, these siblings I have are ALL so beautiful and talented. At times it was a tough job having to be the oldest of these rugrats, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching them run around shrieking at Disneyland, camping with them, and enjoy them even more now that they are all adults.

Some holiday celebrations included decorating cookies, making ornaments, a visit from grandpa Paul,(ahem~I mean Santa)karaoke singing by grandkids, and of course a polar express party. Here are most of the grandkids with grandpa Paul. (ahem~I mean the conductor)

2008 BABIES!!!!

Moms with their 2008 babies in birth order. The first 3 girls were born in the same week!

Christmas Eve we open Eve gifts that consist of new pajamas. A tradition we carried on from Brent's side. I gave up on finding cool Christmas pajamas for the boys and settled on some with red in them to honor the Christmas part mixed in with Batman to make them "cool." I love getting their pictures in matching pjs Christmas morning. It didn't really go well this year though.

Opening the pajamas on Christmas Eve.

1st try. Cade throwing a tantrum. Ethan making a dumb face.

2nd try. Trevor making an angry face for fun.

Last try. Carson is done. He has no patience for his brothers.

So much for my dream of getting cute pictures. I think next year I will listen to Aunt Amy and have them open the Christmas pajamas at the beginning of December so they can wear them during the season. At least that way I can MAYBE get a decent picture?

8 years old!

Trevor turned eight a week before Christmas. We celebrated by going to John's Incredible pizza.(the perfect party place for boys) He decided he wanted to go bad enough that he gave up the friend party to go there instead. I can't describe how OLD I feel now that my child is eight.

Yes, that is my fraidy cat Ethan on the ride too!

I was so excited that I WASN'T pregnant and could go on this ride! Brent carried Carson around in the baby backpack so I could go on with the other boyz. This one goes up and drops you a few times.

Having cake at home afterwards with mom trying to get some smiles out of everyone before Trevor destroyed his cake.
