I love Mother's Day because my kids are old enough to make me fun/cute gifts that I LOVE and because motherhood has been a wonderful and challenging experience that I wouldn't trade for anything.
Yesterday Brent took me Mother's Day shopping so I could get some clothes that fit me. (Last summer I was a lot thinner.) We got a babysitter for my older 3 and he took care of Carson and followed me around stores so I could nurse in between shopping. I came home to the following letter from Ethan. (He had made me a paper heart Saturday morning that said I love you that he promptly crumpled up when I told him that Trevor's baseball game was first and his was second. He wanted his to be first and since I was the deliverer of bad news he punished me by crumpling up his gift.)
Keep in mind
Ethan is in kindergarten so his letter is in kid spell...
Love Ethan
Mom I no that

and I still still Love
you I thec you ard the best
mom in the hole wrld.
For mom
It melted my heart. This kid is really going to put me through an emotional roller coaster as a teenager. Can't wait.
Today I opened my gift from
Trevor that he made at school. It was a plant and a letter where they had to fill in the blanks.
My mom's name is: Mom
(He said he couldn't spell my real name so Mom it was.)
She is: 6'2" tall
(Ummmmm that would be your DAD!!!)
and weighs: 201 pounds.
(Okay, so I think I topped out around the mid 160's when I was 9 months pregnant!)
Her hair is: brown and black
(Seriously?)
Her favorite food is: Oreos
(That would be Trevor's favorite food. Maybe that is how I got to 201 pounds?)
She likes to eat it: a lot
(Apparently)
My mom has a pretty smile! She always smiles when I: do all of my Homework
(okay-good-a normal answer!)
My mom can do many things! Her job is: keeping us safe
(Okay-so I am over paranoid. Who isn't these days?)
Her hobby is: T.V.
(Another thing that must have contributed to me being 201 pounds. Funny thing is that TREVOR loves T.V. but doesn't notice that I never watch it since I am too busy running around taking care of kids!)
My mom is smart! She even knows: how to teach me.
My mom is special because: she helps me read a chapter book.
Signed: Trevor
So Funny! You gotta love it.
So, also this morning
Cade came in and said...
"Mom. Dad say me tell you Happy Mothers Day. I don't want that."
I responded. "Oh, you want to tell mommy Happy Mother's Day? Thank you! I really like it when you tell me nice things!"
He responded. "I don't want that!"
His way of saying he doesn't want to SAY that. Too cute.
Carson is of course too young to make me something, but his wonderful smiles that say thanks for the good meal are enough for me today.
Happy Mothers Day to all the mom's out there!
I learn so much from all of you!
