Carson sleeping!

Carson's middle of the day nap he is so sound asleep that nothing bothers him. I keep pinching myself to see if I am dreaming because my last two GERD babies did NOT sleep this soundly EVER! He sleeps so good I can even get pictures! He is 8 weeks old now.

Trevor's character award

Trevor received the "Person of Character" award at school today. To receive the award you have to demonstrate good character throughout the year. Every month they learn about a different aspect of having good character such as Caring, Giving and Service, Leadership, Initiative and Teamwork, Respect, Responsibility, and Trustworthiness. We are so proud of you Trevor!

Here he is leading his class to the assembly. He is trying not to smile.

Getting ready for the assembly to start.

All the first graders that received the award from 4 classes.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day we spent up at Grandpa Paul and Grandma Jenny's house. Lots of family came in town to see Ty's homecoming talk for his mission so there were lots of cousins to play with and family to see. All the big "kids" did the upper portion of the river and after lunch took the little "kids" down the kid safe portion of the river between grandma and grandpa's property and the rafting put in for the lower portion of the American. The weather was still a little colder than normal for this time of year so they got out the wetsuits. I had to get a picture of the wetsuits because I thought they looked so cute!

Outside getting ready.

This picture is from grandpa and grandma's lawn overlooking the river as the rafters take off.

Father and Son Campout

Here are a couple pictures of the father and son campout Brent took the older 3 boys on. He "forgot" to get a picture with him in it. He was pretty busy trying to keep the boys dry from the rain Friday night and snow on Saturday morning. They brought home a lot of wet, muddy, stinky stuff for only one night! They had fun when they were warm in the tent right before bed at least. The interesting thing is that this weekend was very odd weatherwise since the previous weeks it was summer hot Sacramento. Ethan wasn't too thrilled about how cold it was. Can you tell?

Carson is 7 weeks old!

So, I didn't want to have tons of baby acne pictures of Carson so I didn't take many for a couple weeks while he was going through that stage. Here he is at 7 weeks. These pictures don't do him justice though. He is even cuter in person!

Uncle Ty comes home!

Trevor and Ethan remember when Uncle Ty left two years ago. He was the fun uncle that would always be around grandma and grandpas to play with them. He returned today from a mission in Brazil where he served the Lord faithfully for 2 years. He is a wonderful example to my boys and I am so thankful that they were old enough to remember him and learn from his example. If you have ever greeted a missionary at the airport you know it can seem a little surreal when seeing them after 2 whole years!

Waiting for a glimpse of Uncle Ty!

My Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day because my kids are old enough to make me fun/cute gifts that I LOVE and because motherhood has been a wonderful and challenging experience that I wouldn't trade for anything.

Yesterday Brent took me Mother's Day shopping so I could get some clothes that fit me. (Last summer I was a lot thinner.) We got a babysitter for my older 3 and he took care of Carson and followed me around stores so I could nurse in between shopping. I came home to the following letter from Ethan. (He had made me a paper heart Saturday morning that said I love you that he promptly crumpled up when I told him that Trevor's baseball game was first and his was second. He wanted his to be first and since I was the deliverer of bad news he punished me by crumpling up his gift.)
Keep in mind Ethan is in kindergarten so his letter is in kid spell...

Love Ethan
Mom I no that
I wine too you
but you still Love me
and I still still Love
you I thec you ard the best
mom in the hole wrld.
For mom

It melted my heart. This kid is really going to put me through an emotional roller coaster as a teenager. Can't wait.

Today I opened my gift from Trevor that he made at school. It was a plant and a letter where they had to fill in the blanks.

My mom's name is: Mom
(He said he couldn't spell my real name so Mom it was.)
She is: 6'2" tall
(Ummmmm that would be your DAD!!!)
and weighs: 201 pounds.
(Okay, so I think I topped out around the mid 160's when I was 9 months pregnant!)
Her hair is: brown and black
(Seriously?)
Her favorite food is: Oreos
(That would be Trevor's favorite food. Maybe that is how I got to 201 pounds?)
She likes to eat it: a lot
(Apparently)
My mom has a pretty smile! She always smiles when I: do all of my Homework
(okay-good-a normal answer!)
My mom can do many things! Her job is: keeping us safe
(Okay-so I am over paranoid. Who isn't these days?)
Her hobby is: T.V.
(Another thing that must have contributed to me being 201 pounds. Funny thing is that TREVOR loves T.V. but doesn't notice that I never watch it since I am too busy running around taking care of kids!)
My mom is smart! She even knows: how to teach me.
My mom is special because: she helps me read a chapter book.
Signed: Trevor

So Funny! You gotta love it.

So, also this morning Cade came in and said...
"Mom. Dad say me tell you Happy Mothers Day. I don't want that."
I responded. "Oh, you want to tell mommy Happy Mother's Day? Thank you! I really like it when you tell me nice things!"
He responded. "I don't want that!"
His way of saying he doesn't want to SAY that. Too cute.

Carson is of course too young to make me something, but his wonderful smiles that say thanks for the good meal are enough for me today.

Happy Mothers Day to all the mom's out there!
I learn so much from all of you!

Blessing Day

Carson's blessing day was hectic, but very sweet. Family pictures are always a joke. For some reason no one told me I looked so funny trying to hold Carson out for the camera! If you look closely at Cade's shirt you can see the blood stains from him splitting his chin open 2 minutes before the blessing while I was in the mothers room finishing nursing. Brent walked in with Carson as they were announcing the blessing and I ended up holding Cade in the doorway and listening from there. The joys of boys!

Sleeping Babies

There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby-well maybe two sleeping babies! I love when they lay their arms back and are in completely comfortable sleep! This is Carson's cousin Kaden born 2 1/2 weeks after him. In this picture Kaden is a week and a half and Carson is almost 4 weeks. So, now Carson has a brother Cade, cousins named Kaden, Kenyon, and Kiefer. If that isn't enough to "C"onfuse you I don't know what is.
