We spent the 4th of July weekend up in Coloma on a mini vacation. We started it off rafting with friends and aunt Nicole. This was Trevor's first WHITE water rafting experience and even though he didn't show it outwardly-he LOVED it!
Later that day Trevor and I were rivered out so we hung out with Aunt Nicole while Carson got to go kayaking with daddy...
Cade with grandpa...
Silly fun grandma went too.
Ethan took his FIRST solo kayak ride down!
On the 4th Trevor made his first 7 layer dip. He had a hard time getting past the fact that it doesn't have to be perfect. If you mess it up you just cover it up and no one knows! After he was done he smiled for me. (note: the pile of extra olives is grandpa's doing because he didn't think there were enough so that corner is for grandpa only.)
Later that day we had cousins come by. The little ones wanted to help grandpa barbeque. Little cuties!
After a yummy dinner the kids enjoyed grandma's snowcone machine with red and blue flavors to choose from.
We went to a little fireworks celebration about 15 minutes away. We had 9 kids and crazy grandparents to entertain us while we waited in a parking lot.
Watching from the top of the car is way more fun than the cheap seats.
Carson wasn't scared of the noise. He just loved it!
Monday brought funny uncle Ben and wife Dara (or Dora as Carson calls her) and friends to go rafting and Trevor had his second white water rafting trip. NO ONE wanted a picture so I don't have that, but later that day they went kayaking.
Ethan went on his second solo trip and was doing so well that the other rafters and kayakers kept asking him how old he was. This time he went down to turtle pond. He was SO proud of himself!
Cade got to go with daddy.
We had a great weekend celebrating our freedom and our great country. I especially loved singing patriotic hymns at church and spending time in the outdoors with family. I'm so thankful for the freedoms we enjoy.

Looks like we need to come visit during the summer more often! So cool that Trevor went down and so cool that Ethan got to Kayak on his own. I bet they were both so proud. I can't believe they are old enough for things like this!
Great pictures! I'm glad you got some of my kids too... I hardly have any. Will you send me some of those. THanks!
why didn't you share about our grumpy game night??? And how much you loved that one game?
Boys, kids, family, and water..........Great combination for fun. The boys are growing up so fast
Wow! Could I be more jealous? Looks like such a fun 4th. You are so lucky to have M&D close by cuz they are some fun g'parents. Your boys are so grown up! I still have fears about getting in a kayak on the river by myself!
