Oceanside

The third week in July we spent in Oceanside with Brent's whole family at his parents timeshare on the beach. We had fun in the sun!

Part of the drive down we took Carson and cousin Thor alone in one car so they could sleep. They only slept 20 minutes of the 8 1/2 hour travel day. (Yes there is traffic through L.A. on Saturdays and no the babies did not like the traffic. They were soooooooooo done driving at that point!)

Thor wasn't happy about the waves and wanted his mom

The boys loved playing in the sand and tried to bury Trevor at one point.

Trevor, Ethan, and Cade would dig holes and run when the waves came to fill them in. So funny.

Carson and Thor playing in the sand.

Carson gets super excited when he hears airplanes! This is the stance where he freezes and listens to decide where the plane is. When he finds it he points and screams "pane, pane, pane!"

Yes. Brent wore this hat even when his sisters laughed at him. He didn't want to burn his bald head.

Carson found this pink car at the timeshare pool. I had to get a picture because I know how much Brent loves his boys in pink!

Ethan spent a lot of time on his boogie board!

Thanks to patient Aunt Lindsay, Aunt Audra, Uncle Gerald and Brent who put Cade on the boogie board and pushed him when the waves came over and over because he couldn't get himself on it. He loved it!

Trevor the show off. "Look Mom! No hands!"

Carson tried boogie boarding with daddy. He was a good sport to put up with his dad trying to get him a ride!

Trevor and Ethan were lucky enough to have Aunt Erin (and later Uncle Gerald) give them suring lessons.

Trevor getting up on the board!

Ethan learning to surf!

If that isn't excitement at accomplishing standing up I don't know what is!

We went to Legoland with some awesome coupons we got from PTA. It was only minutes from the timeshare and we had a blast! The first area we visited had a dinosaur theme. Here they are hatching out of a dinosaur egg.

Cade driving a car by himself at the Volvo Junior driving school for kids 3-5!

Cade on a ride with his Grandma Petersen.

Trevor was almost too big for his car. This Volvo driving school was suppossed to be for kids ages 6 to 13, but I don't think a 13 year old would be able to fit.

Ethan loved the driving!

All over the park there were super cool things made out of legos. This guy had a banana for a weapon that is hard to see. Ethan wanted to go on rides instead of smile for mom.

Cade driving a lego boat with dad. All day he wanted to go on the rides with his dad.

Trevor on a horse ride.

Ethan was chosen to participate in a show-totally loves this stuff. Legolot is in blue.

Carson actually got to go on a ride! They don't have a lot for babies at Legoland. Cade is trying to get his seatbelt off. Not sure why his shirt has to come up for that.

We visited Miniland USA where the cities are built out of legos. This is New York City behind the cute boys.

This is for my D.C. friends. I miss you guys! I miss living by all these wonderful monuments. They did a great job don't you think? Trevor and Ethan are off to the right to give you an idea how big the monuments are.

Mt Rushmore-the faces are in legos.

The Statue of Liberty. (all legos of course.)

We also got to go to Sea Life an Aquarium next door to Legoland. Everyone wanted to get eaten by the shark. Here is Carson.

Cade getting eaten.

Ethan getting eaten.

Trevor getting eaten. He is my biggest fan of sharks.

Carson climbing onto and pushing his way into this lego castle with a bunch of big kids he doesn't even know. He tried to put legos on, but mostly he was breaking them off.

Trevor giving me attitude when I ask him to smile while they are petting the starfish.

The pass we got for the Aquarium ended up being a hopper pass so we went back to Legoland to have more fun. Here da boyz are making lego cars and racing them.

There was an Indiana Jones ride called Lost Kingdom Adventure (similar to Buzz Lightyear at Disneyland where you shoot targets.) and they had this fun lego section to play in while you wait in line so the boys played while dad was in line for them.

Cute Carson. Loving Legos!

We had a great week and it was so fun to get away and spend time with family. Thanks Petersen's for a fun week!

I'm exhausted just looking at all the fun stuff you guys did! LOVE, LOVE , LOVE the surfing pictures...I had to wait until I was 47 to learn how to surf, but I did it! Da Boyz are so spoiled to have Aunt Erin & Uncle Gerald teach them. Do they know that they have surfed all over the world! So cool - I'm glad you had such a great trip. You deserved the break.
