Memorial Day weekend was very busy for us. On Saturday after holding a garage sale and the boys having a baseball game Brent took the older boys to the pool while Carson napped and I cleaned. I walked outside to pick up a sweatshirt in the grass and THIS was under it! I screamed so loud I thought for sure my neighbors would call the police. I think it took me 40 minutes to calm down in my house with the door locked telling myself it couldn't hurt me because it was probably a garter snake. I tried taking a picture with my phone to send to Brent to see if it was a safe snake as it was coiled up ready to strike, but didn't want to get too close and Brent wasn't checking his phone or answering it so I had NO ONE to save me! Finally they came back home an hour later and Brent captured him from behind the garbage cans and confirmed my suspicions that it was a garter snake. Then the boys went with dad to the field down the street and let it go. Whew!
Trevor has been begging for a buzz haircut so he doesn't have to get his hair done in the summer. For fun we did a Mohawk before finishing off the buzz haircut.
I thought Ethan was on board with wanting one too, but found out different. I was informed that he wouldn't be cute anymore without his hair and that everyone would laugh at him. I told him he was handsome no matter what, but since it came from mom he didn't believe it.
The buzzed boys on Memorial Day. I showed this picture to Carson today while he was "helping" me blog and asked him why he was crying. He told me "I want to play ping pong." Which is exactly why he didn't want to take the picture. Cade is pouting because we told him to stop making funny faces and smile.
Brent came to the rescue with funny faces to make them laugh so I could get a smile on camera. Yes, I know Carson looks like a cancer patient with no hair. That is what happens when mommy tells daddy to use #2 clippers and he uses #1 instead.
Then I let them make their goofy face picture...
and Carson got his ping pong game.
Brent and I got to go rafting with my sister Nicole and her friends. As you can tell the weather was cold as we are all in wetsuits. I am usually a fair weather rafter, but didn't want to pass up rafting with my fun hyper little sister.
After rafting, (It was a WILD ride losing some rafters to the snow melt freezing cold water, but SO FUN!) the boys got Grandpa to take them for a ride on his tractor.
Ethan did his first solo riding on the ATV!
Then we hopped back on the river because the sun was finally kind of shining to do a float with the kids. I asked Carson again why he was crying in this picture and he said "Carson is stuck." which is funny to me he remembered why he was upset and even funnier because he just didn't want to get up himself, he wanted someone to pick him up.
Nicole and her friends joined us on the kayaks.
A fun memorable weekend indeed. I'm so thankful for those that gave of their lives and time in serving our country so we could enjoy freedoms and have holidays with our families and friends. Hope you had a Happy Memorial Day!

Super fun! I LOVE buzzed cuts on little boys. SO cute. I'm glad it wasn't super warm there. I know, I'm mean. At least I'm not the only one wishing it was warmer outside! :)
Looks like a ton of fun! That's awesome about the snake haha.
YUCK to the snake! I LOVE that T has a helmet on while playing Ping-Pong...it's such a "dangerous" sport! Always fun with da Boyz - come again, soon!
I'm so jealous! I would have loved to spend Memorial Day like that. Sadly, the only similarity is that I was cleaning. :( No snakes for me, though. I would have given birth immediately.
The buzz cuts are soooo cute. Ethan is so hilarious. As long as he keeps working on those dance moves he will be just fine with the ladies.
And I was going to laugh about Trevor playing ping-pong with his helmet on too but looks like Mom beat me to it! Hahaha!
ATV's, rafting, tractors and a snake. What a wonderful world for boys.
That snake is horrible! You poor thing! I would have died. Too funny about the buzz/mohawk - I just did that to Hayden yesterday too! Hooray for summer hair cuts!
Your boys are just so cute I love checking in on you guys. Hey is Cade doing am or pm K?
Yikes!! I would've screamed too! Looks like you had an awesome memorial day too. Btw, your parents house is BEAUTIFUL. I would die for that porch! Your mom gave us a tour and I have to say that I totally covet every inch of their square footage:)
I would have screamed my head off too! I freaked out when I did a science experiment with my kids and I had to touch a bunch of Ladybugs! I feel for you! YUCK!
Da boyz are always so fun. glad they came.
Ahhhhh! I am terrified even looking at the snake picture! I had to call Eric home from work one day because one of those little tiny frogs was in the house teasing me. I was crying...I'm a wimp.
Looks like you guys were super busy and had a wonderful time!!!
